The Seattle Lammies day continues.

27 april 2019 - Seattle / Tacoma KOA, Washington, Verenigde Staten

Having made corner after corner an gone up a flight of stairs we found ourselves at a dock in the harbour. The wooden floorboards looked like they had stories to tell of their own. At the end of the dock the Ferris wheel was turning its rounds and we all, some with a bit of gentle per swaying, wanted to go on the wheel and see the harbour and part of the city from up high. Which by the way is also one of Seattle’s loved pass times, getting high the Dutch way. Seattle is a very liberal city whit a lot of similarities with Amsterdam. The smell of weeds being one of them. We bought our tickets and of we went. Luckily, all 6 of us fitted in 1 cart which made the ride all the more fun. And as all grown boys do, Josh and me started rocking the boat, which was not appreciated by all, but funny never the less. We could see the harbour, the Islands, the ferries and the market from above. Allyson had brought a treat for us, homemade cookies, M&M cookies. We boys quite down and enjoyed the lovely cookies, which tasted great. Yes Allyson, you really should start the bakery you want to.

We had gone for 4 rounds as the attendant opened our doors. When we got in he explained us that in an emergency we should push the red button on the ceiling, and that would help. Getting out Josh asked him what would happened if we had pushed the button. Clearly the question was never asked before since he threw out a sentence of some incoherent words. Which mend as much as; why the f would you ask this? You could see the hard error in his eyes. I think he was missing some building blocks, which btw Josh is an expert in. As we would later learned Josh will probably be the guy every gamer would like to know or be. And I'm sure when my son reads this he wants his number. Josh is a Minecraft producer. Yes Rick, he makes the game you love to play for hours and hours. And yes Caleb, I know you would like it to, but we have met him. He knows what Minecraft will bring on the next update. Wouldn't tell, but he knows.......

We walked back and passes "Wings over Washington" another tourist attraction. But we were ensured by Judy, who had done the ride before that it was really nice. Of we went and bought ourselves ticket for it. The waiting line walking past it to the Ferris wheel was much longer than it was now so I think the wait was about 20 minutes. In which the girls could not stop talking. We were let up a flight of stairs an into a rangers cabin set decor. At the wall in from of us 3 TV screens were hung on their side with 2 ft in between. When the light dimmed and the show started these turned out to be the windows of the cabin looking out. Outside the cabin there was a deck with, surprise, a ranger. The ranger was telling us a story about the natives who lived here and there believe in the spirit of the eagle that lived in the totem pole. The story was told in a bit childish way. And to be honest Judy....I thought, really? This is fun? On the wall in between the windows, and on the walls to either side maskers of totem animals hang and moved during the story told by the ranger. If this would have been it, I would have massively overpaid I though. The story was done and the light came om again. We were let to a second room, in this room there was an Imax type screen. and rollercoaster seats. the attraction was not over yet. Better even, when we were sat in the seats and fastened our seatbelts, the floor underneath our feet moved back and we were suspended in the air. From underneath our feet the same eagle from the story came flying and took us along a flight over the state of Washington. Flying through the woods and see people rafting, and all the way up to the snowy peaks of Mt. Rainier. All this with our seats were moving with the direction the eagle would fly. And when flying over water you would feel the spray. Ok Judy, you are absolutely right, this was fun. We did hear the occasional scream, but since it was dark we will never know who it was.

Time had flew by as we took our flight with the eagle. having walked the market all the way to the dock, we had without knowing also had gone down quite a bit. Looking up to the city I wondered how to get all the way up again. We followed the ladies, since they exactly knew where the elevators were located. And without too much effort we surfaced at the pike street market again. For me there was just one place to go after this..... The real first Starbucks. Not the one on 1st street. Getting there it turned out to be a real small store and people were lining up to get their coffee. A young lady at the entrance answered the most asked question of people walking by, how long do I have to wait in line? I heard her say, about 15 minutes. So I took the pictures I wanted, the selfie every coffee junk needs, in front of the flagship store of Starbucks.

We had agreed to split up, and meet up again about 2 hours later at a place called Henry's Tavern in the Bellevue area. We took a ride with Judy and left the busy streets of down town Seattle. It will probably have been 45 minutes to an hour as we turned into the parking. During the ride I could hardly get in a word while the ladies were chatting and chatting. I loved to see that Suus and Judy could share their experiences. Which had been going on all day with all the Lammies. We walked in to Henry's Tavern and were greeted by the lady that will do the seating. We picked 2 tables and moved them over to be 1 long table.  As we sat down Allyson had joined us again and we ordered some drinks. Looking around the bar/sports cafe/dining I could see that there were a lot of beers they had as a draft. And behind a 25 ft wide glass wall you could see all the kegs that were connected to the tap with all the tubing leading there. I'm not sure but it looked to be a refrigerated room as well. The beer menu was again "the American choice game". I think they must have had more than 30 choices to pick from. I again went for the name, and this time it was called "rogue dead guys ale". Again I was not disappointed. There would be 1 more Lammie that would join us, Cynthia. Cyn as it turned out to be, was a Lammie that could speak Dutch. This was really nice to speak Dutch with an American. And as it turned out she spoke it really well. Again all te ladies were sharing everything about LAM, and not in a negative way, but simply sharing tips and tricks, data and doctors stories. And the feeling I had during the evening was one that I was surrounded by strong women. LAM unites, LAM makes friend for life. A big ass screen hang just above the wall opposite of Josh and me, showing an ice hockey game, so we also had something to do......these ladies would jab and jab and jab....like there was no tomorrow. But we enjoyed every minute of it, every second. We ordered with the waitress and our food was served, but I think we all ate cold food, there was so much to talk about. Going from English to Dutch, back to English. that at the end it felt like I was talking Dunglish. A couple of hours passed and I do not now how many, but time had come to go home to our waggie. Cyn was so kind to give us a ride to the KOA, since our "moppie" Judy had taken us from Seattle to Bellevue. We said goodbye to Emerald and Josh, Judy and Allyson. And took the elevator down to the parking. We really enjoyed the ride back, talking Dutch. And Cyn and Suus had still a lot to talk about. About her Dutch roots and of course LAM. We arrived at the KOA but were not done talking. And I think it is a Dutch thing, signs. There was a sign "no parking" so guess where Cyn parked her car? After another 30 minutes of chatting in the car, the security came up to the car wondering what we were doing. Time to go. We waved at Cyn when she drove away. We walked to our waggie tired to the bone.
