Meeting the Hutchinson's Part 2

21 april 2019 - Livingston, Montana, Verenigde Staten

The next morning we were awake at 6 AM and tried to fall asleep again, but we did not manage to do so. It was very very kind that we could stay at their driveway. But it did feel a little weird. Not wrong, just weird. We all know that feeling that you have been invited and that you spend the night. That the next morning you think you are "in the way". Well at the Hutchinson's we didn't. We were first greeted by Harper the dog who was already full of anticipation waggling her tail. She could hear us in our RV, when Suus called her name she pointed her ears. But she could not see through the tainted glass of our RV windows. But as soon as I opened the door she came running with a great burst of enthusiasm and greeted us good morning.

As if Jennifer had heard Harper as well, she texted if we were awake. She wanted to go and grab breakfast together. Which of course was fine. I was still quite full from that half cow I ate the day before, but there is always room for breakfast. Chris was up early, and busy doing community work. So we went with Jennifer, McKenna and Caleb. Who had a sleep over at a friend where we picked him up. I got to hand it to the kids, being forced to have breakfast with adults only. And on top of that people you had never really met, friend from your parents. All the way from Europe. But they endured, and a fun couple of kids they are. We had a raise of hands on where we should go, and it would be "that biscuit place". Which to Caleb did not sound familiar, so he did not really want to go. Until Jennifer reminded him of the last time they went there, then he popped up as if stung by a bee. We were all on board, the biscuit place it would be.  A little later we arrived at The Sassy Buiscuit. A very nice hip place to be. What a good choice! We picked out our table and started looking at the menu. If you are a star at making choices it would have been a walk in the park. But I am not so it took a while to decide. Finally my choice would be "the cobbler". Same as Jen. Suus had "the Julia" and the kids had pancakes, with a side of bacon and a side of potatoes.

It was finger licking good. and of course we wanted to take a nice photo of the moment, only one little rascal thought he did not have to be in the picture. But you have to be an early bird to beat this rascal. So here you are Caleb. GOTCHA!

GOTCHA Caleb!

After breakfast we headed out to go and see the Pompei tower. A monument where Lewis and Clark had carved their initials. The only place along their adventure where they supposedly did so.....but we will never know....it was closed for the season when we got there. But nothing was wasted, we had time to talk and the time flew by.

We arrived at the Hutchinson’s residence, and Chris was just finishing up. Picture time!!!!!!! Everybody that could think of an excuse, or thought he was quick enough to skip it, got outsmarted by Jennifer. In a jiffy the friendly neighbour was there to take the pics. Saying goodbye was hard, the invite, the stay, the hospitality, the kindness, it all came from a good hart. Never the less we had to go, even though we would have loved to stay longer. After some more goodbye hugs we left Billings. Thanks for everything!
